Introduction, and an advantage you already have…
One advantage for English speakers learning Spanish is this: the Spanish alphabet is pronounced exactly the way it is written. This is called a phonetic language, and it’s going to make your life easier when you learn Spanish. Why? Because after you’ve learned how the sounds are pronounced, there are no surprises – everything is pronounced the way it’s written.
Example: In English, the abbreviation for the National Basketball Association is “NBA” (pronounced en-bee-aye). In Spanish? “Ene be a” (pronounced exactly the way it’s written: ene-be-a).
With that introduction, let’s see the Spanish alphabet.
